No Doubt Summer Tour 2009
In this month’s Spin Magazine, No Doubt gives one of the first interviews of their Summer 2009 tour and in the article Gwen Stefani is quoted as saying, “I have no idea what we mean to people anymore.”
And I say, Really? I think I spoke for many if not all No Doubt fans when I wrote the following back in September 2007:
I wrote about this back in Sept 2007, but back then it was Adrian who had said something. Now it’s Gwen: “I don’t think we should wait. Pack up the babies and get a bunch of nannies. So fun! Would be so inspiring to get out there and play all those songs again,” singer Gwen Stefani wrote in a band chat on No Doubt’s Web site Friday night.

For No Doubt fans this news is FABULOUS. Sure we have had Gwen solo for several years now and that was fun and addictive at times, but now it is time for the rebirth of No Doubt. As much as the media and fans love Gwen Stefani, true No Doubt fans love Gwen Stefani more when she is with the boys Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont, Adrian Young, Gabrial McNair, and Stephen Bradley.
In my opinion, the music and pop culture scene has been seriously lacking without No Doubt. Their influence on the mid to late 90′s and early 00′s was profound. With hits like Just a Girl, Don’t Speak, and Spiderwebs, No Doubt and Gwen Stefani became a household name. Gwen’s hotness and edgy ska style, coupled with the bands upbeat, anthem style music which inspired the 20 something’s of the era, was the spark the music industry needed as the dark musical era of Grunge was coming to an end.
During the mainstream No Doubt era (1995-2004), many of us went from single people to married with kids, but our love for No Doubt didn’t die when responsibilities kicked in. In fact, our love for No Doubt was and is what helped keep us young and connected to the music scene and one another.
No Doubt fans have evolved much like the band members have over the years and the 30 something’s are ready for round two of No Doubt. We are charged up and ready to go. It’s going to be an exciting time for the band and the fans. Let’s get it going!!!!
